Mission Statement

The mission of St. Paul's United Methodist Church is to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to all, so that they may come to know the comfort and joy of God's grace and love. With God's help, we will continue to build a community of faith centered in love and that ministers to people and their spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical hurts and hopes.

Connectional Links

The United Methodist Church is a connectional denomination.

Groups of churches in a geographic area are organized to form a district, somewhat similar to the way cities and towns are organized into counties. Often, churches in a district will work together to provide training and mission opportunities.

St. Paul's is a part of the Central South District.

When you hear the term "annual conference," it could be referring to any one of three things. The annual conference is a regional body, an organizational unit AND a yearly meeting. An annual conference may cover an entire state, only part of the state, or even parts of two or more states.

St. Paul's is part of the Texas Annual Conference.

Safe Sanctuary

OUR CALLING AND OUR MANDATE IS TO ENSURE SAFE SANCTUARY FOR GOD'S PEOPLE.

Throughout the gospels, Jesus provides teachings on providing a peaceable kingdom for all of God's people, including our most precious gifts, our children and youth (Matthew 5:9, Luke 18:15-17). The peaceable kingdom begins with sanctuary.

Scriptures provide examples of how sanctuary is to be a community of protective nurture and harmony (Psalms 20:1-2, 27:4-5). As Christians, we are called to create a safe sanctuary in our churches. They must be holy, safe, and protective communities for all of God's children, regardless of age or ability.
