Mission for Latin America
Established: December, 2000
Description:
The Mission for Latin America fund provides income to support the Encounter with Christ in Latin America and the Caribbean mission outreach in partnership with Methodist churches in a number of countries of the region through the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church. St. Paul's sister church, Iglesia Evanagelica Metodista Emmanuel in Cochabamba, Bolivia and where Rev. Diane Wimberley, a former Associate Pastor of St. Paul’s currently serves as a missionary, receives mission support through “Encounter”.
Additionally, Rev. Wilson Boots, who serves as Director of Interpretation for the Encounter Advisory Board, and his wife Nora, are members of St. Paul’s congregation with continuing mission involvement with our Emmanuel sister church where several mission teams from St. Paul’s have been involved.
