About Our Scholarship Grants
St. Paul's Foundation administers several scholarship funds that make up a total endowment of appoximately $1.2 million. For the 2009-2010 school year, the Foundation has been able to award scholarships to 42 recipients totaling more than $55,000.
Typically, the scholarship committee, composed of St. Paul's members, meets in early Spring to award scholarships. Although St. Paul's members and affiliates usually receive a higher priority in the awarding of scholarships, any student who meets the qualifications is welcome to apply, and all completed scholarship applications will be considered.
While most of our scholarships are available to students of any educational discipline, scholarships are also awarded in the following specific areas:
Perkins School of Theology students
Students pursuing Ordained Ministry in The United Methodist Church
Other church-related careers
Students attending Lon Morris College
Students pursuing degrees in Music
Students pursuing degrees in Early Childhood Education
Applying for Scholarship Grants
Scholarship Application forms for the 2010-2011 school year are now available. You may contact the Foundation office if you would like to make a request now for an application to be emailed to you.
Once submitted, the forms are reviewed and scholarships are awarded by the St. Paul's Scholarship Committee based on several considerations, including academics, church involvement, and need. Each application is considered individually and for its own merit. Scholarship recipients will be notified of the award, and awards will be received in early August and early January following the awards process. No part of the application will be returned to the applicant; these are held in a permanent confidential file in the St. Paul's Foundation office.
For the 2010-2011 application year, the deadline for applying for scholarship grants from St. Paul's Foundation is Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Please note that no application will be considered unless every component of the application is received in the Foundation office by that date. This will include the application itself as well as letters of reference, transcripts, and any other information that may be required.
If you would like to request a 2010-2011 Scholarship Application via email, please click on Request an Application to provide us with your contact information. An application will be sent to you as soon as possible.
