About Our Scholarship Grants
St. Paul's Foundation administers several scholarship funds that make up a total endowment of appoximately $1.2 million. For the 2007-2008 school year, the Foundation has been able to award scholarships to 46 recipients totaling nearly $65,000.
Typically, the scholarship committee, composed of St. Paul's members, meets in early Spring to award scholarships. Although St. Paul's members and affiliates usually receive a higher priority in the awarding of scholarships, any student that meets the qualifications is welcome to apply.
While many of our scholarships are available to students of any educational discipline, scholarships are also awarded in the following specific areas:
Perkins School of Theology students
Students pursuing Ordained Ministry in The United Methodist Church
Other church-related careers
Students attending Lon Morris College
Students pursuing degrees in Music
Students pursuing degrees in Early Childhood Education
Applying for Scholarship Grants
Scholarship Application forms for the 2009-2010 school year will be available in September, 2008. You may contact the Foundation office if you would like to make a request now for an application to be emailed to you at that time.
Once submitted, the forms are reviewed and scholarships are awarded by the St. Paul's Scholarship Committee based on several considerations, including academics, church involvement, and need. Each application is considered individually and for its own merit. Scholarship recipients will be notified of the award and awards will be received in early August and early January following the awards process. No part of the application will be returned to the applicant and is held in a permanent confidential file in the St. Paul's Foundation office.
For the 2009-2010 application year, the deadline for applying for scholarship grants from St. Paul's Foundation is February 2, 2009. Please note that no application will be considered unless every component of the application is received in the Foundation office by that date. This will include the application itself, as well as letters of reference, transcripts, and any other information that may be required.
If you would like to request a 2009-2010 Scholarship Application via email, please click on Request an Application to provide us with your contact information. Applications will be forwarded in September, 2008.
