WELCOME TO ST. PAUL'S UMC YOUTH MINISTRY

St. Paul's Youth Ministry is dedicated to providing a safe and exciting enviroment for Youth (6th through 12th graders) to deepen their relationship with God, friends, family, and themselves.

Most Youth events and activities meet in the Tubbs Youth Center on the first floor of the Sanctuary Building.

Confirmation

This class for sixth-graders begins each September and ends with students being confirmed as full members of the church in April. Youth focus their study on Christianity and what it means to be a Methodist.  The class meets Sundays from 5 to 7 p.m. Throughout the year, confirmands have the opportunity to visit different places of worship as well as participate in retreats, overnight trips, and other activities with the youth group.

Small Groups

Starting this Fall, we are introducing something new and exciting into our Sunday nights. We will be implementing small groups as the focus of our time together at UMY. Each youth is placed into an age and gender specific small group of about 5-7 youth with one adult volunteer. Small groups meet approximately 3 times a month on Sunday evenings, allowing some time throughout the semester for recreation and service nights. Small groups are a wonderful way for the youth to develop deeper relationships with others in the midst of a safe and open environment. To maintain consistency, we ask that the youth make the commitment for the entire school year to be present as much as possible. If you would like to be placed in a small group, please let us know and we will make sure you get placed.

Midweek Bible Study

Wednesday afternoon, all youth are invited to meet at the church starting at 3:30 p.m. for Mid Week Bible Study. We have homework and recreation time from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Bible Study from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. After Bible Study we travel together via church bus to a local restaurant to have dinner together. Parents can pick up students at the church by 7:30 p.m. If you need a ride, please let us know, and Emily or Tiffin can pick up students from school (in the big church bus -- you will look SO cool !).

Sunday School

Sunday School begins at 9:30 with refreshments and recreation time.
Junior and Senior High have separate classes which meet from 9:45-10:45am.
Sunday School meets every Sunday, including summers.

Girls Gone Good

Girls Gone Good is the official girls ministry for the female youth of St. Paul's UMC. We plan monthly events specifically for the girls to grow in their understanding of God and who they are as women of God. Previous events have included our "Heavenly Bodies" series, the Revolve Tour, Sleepovers, movie nights and more. Any questions, please contact Emily Everett.

Outreach/Missions

The Youth of St. Paul's are involved in several outreach projects throughout the year. Junior and Senior High youth each participate in week-long mission trips in the state of Texas during the summer months. UM ARMY is for all Senior High youth, and JUMMP is for junior high students. Throughout the year youth also have the opportunity to participate in a variety of local service projects, both as individuals and as groups.

This year marked our very first youth mission trip to Bolivia in August 2008. We hope this will be the start of many opportunities to share in international missions experiences. If you would like more information about this trip please contact Emily Everett.
